This project is a collaboration between the City of Detroit Lakes Arts & Culture Commission and Project 412, funded by the Project 412 Wave Makers and a grant from the Blandin Foundation.

Detroit Lakes hosts several annual events that celebrate the arts and bring the community together. A highlight is the ‘Street Faire at the Lakes,’ typically held on the first Friday and Saturday after Memorial Day. This event features over 130 artist booths, live music, and a variety of food vendors, marking the beginning of the outdoor art show season in the region. The 26th annual Street Faire is scheduled for May 29-30, 2026, in downtown Detroit Lakes.
Another beloved tradition is the ‘Tuesdays in the Park’ concert series. Every Tuesday evening during the summer, the City Park bandshell comes alive with free live music performances. This series offers a platform for local and regional musicians to showcase their talents and provides a delightful experience for attendees.
